Summer Lovin'
I love the summers here. . .I'm so surprised! I thought I'd hate all this humidity and well. . .actually I DO hate the humidity, BUT PRAISE THE LORD everybody in the South loves air conditioning so I've managed to stay cool most of the time! And the nights here are awesome because they are still so warm, but not hot and I have an awesome porch swing on my porch! It's really so beautiful here in TN, I had no idea! I've had a great summer, lots of traveling to see fam and friends. Lots of hiking and even caving, yeah I still can't believe I did that, but it was awesome. Lots of school work, I'm liking school a lot but it really does take a ton of my time! I am SO fortunate that I am in the situation I am because my schedule is super flexible! Students start coming in the next few weeks so I'm running around trying to make everything ready! I'm getting more and more excited for them to come back! I needed the break for sure and loved it but am excited to have my ladies back and to meet my new ladies! Here are some pics from the summer!

A Reminder
So I've had some good reminders lately from the Lord. It's really easy to feel sorry for myself sometimes when all of my friends seem to be getting married or meeting that special someone. Really easy. I most definitely have the desire to someday share my life with someone. But I was reading in I think 1 Corinthians the other day and Paul was talking about how someone who is married has all of the responsibilities that come along with that and don't have as much time to dedicate to the Lord. How true! And a challenge to me to not waste this time that the Lord has given me right now. He has put me in this place in life and has endless opportunities for me to love on people and to help them find freedom in the Lord. I would not have had the opportunity to do half of the stuff I've done the last several years each of which have helped shape me into who I am and experiences that I would not trade for anything.
Maybe someday the Lord will bring someone into my life to share those experiences with me, but for right now, I'm going to trust His timing and not waste TODAY. I have the potential to have influence on at least 90 some ladies in my dorm. I don't want to miss out.

My Girls
I just love this picture of my friends from college: Kate, Kailee, Mel, Kendall, Liss, Me, & Sarah. Each of these girls are so special to me for so many different reasons! The pics from from last summer when I got to visit them all around the 4th of July. I miss them, but am so glad and know beyond a shadow of a doubt that I could call any one of them at anytime if I ever needed anything. Why am I so lucky?

End of the Year '07
We had an all-school party at the lake w/ jet skis and boats. So much fun! My first time to ride a jet-ski then afterward a few of us headed to Displace Me, an event to raise awareness for an organization called Invisible Children that works for the children in Northern Uganda who have been affected by the civil war in their country.

The Sadie Johnson Dessert Soiree '07
We had an end of the year dessert banquet for Johnson Hall called the Sadie Johnson Dessert Soiree! It was so much fun! The girls looked gorgeous. They had fun getting dressed up and feeling pretty and reminiscing on the year and of course taking tons of pictures! We had Sadie Awards, tons of great desserts that my RAs and I made, live jazz music, and had a fun picture slide show of all the girls from the year! My RAs & I planned the whole evening, and it was a fun last thing to do with them as well. They did an amazing job, I'm so proud of my RAs and will miss them SO much! I also was incredibly blessed with amazing women in my dorm this year! It has been so much fun getting to be a part of their lives; I can't wait till next year!
